I can't really explain it
I haven't got the words
It's a feeling that you can't control
I suppose its like forgetting
Losing who you are
And at the same time
Something makes you whole
Its like that there's a music
Playing in your ear
And I'm listening, and I'm listening
And then I disappear

And then I feel a change
Like a fire deep inside
Something bursting me wide open
Impossible to hide

And suddenly I'm flying
Flying like a bird
Like electricity
Electricity
Sparks inside of me
And I'm free, I'm free

It's a bit like being angry
It's a bit like being scared
Confused and all mixed up
And mad as hell
It's like when you've been crying
And you're empty, and you're full
I don't know what it is
It's hard to tell

Its like that there's some music
Playing in your ear
But the music
Is impossible
Impossible to hear

But then I feel it move me
Like a burning deep inside
Something bursting me wide open
Impossible to hide

Then suddenly I'm flying
Flying like a bird
Like electricity
Electricity
Sparks inside of me
And I'm free, I'm free

Electricity
Sparks inside of me
And I'm free, I'm free
Oh oh whoa
I'm free

Wonderful song, although sung so much better by young Liam Mower.

I think it's about dying or near death experiences.

Actually its not about dying or near death experiences, its about the feeling you get when you are dancing. In the movie billy eliot, this is the theme tune for the stage musical of Billy Eliot, Billy descibes the feeling he gets when he is dancing as electricity.I love this song and think it has very real meanings.

starydancer is right, but the reason I love this song is cos I think it can be applied to whatever makes you feel like that in your own life. For me it would be dancing as well, but for others it could be any number of different things. And also it seems to fit with what I think falling in love is like. That confusion of emotions, feeling everything at once, and something trying to burst out of you.

Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

Like a lot of the other comments are saying, I think this mainly about voyeurism. If the song was about his girlfriend, then why would he use the word spy. If you are a spy it means you shouldn't be caught, that is kind of the whole point, and if you are a voyeur, the whole point of the pleasure you get from it, is the fact that the other people don't know you are watching them. See a bit of a connection there?

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
