I Don't Care What You Call Me Lyrics
I never made time,
You never made much sense
We never stood a chance,
If we're honest.
You were not the first,
And I won't be the last,
But if it makes it better,
Well you can call me what you will.
Get home late,
No one's here.
Pace around the house
And sit in my chair.
And if you think of me,
It doesn't mean a thing.
So why don't you just tell me
What you really think again?
I don't care what you call me
Because it won't hurt any more.
I know I let you down,
And Christ, you let me know
Every time
And time again.
Just another afternoon
Get drunk and disappear
So call me what you will
Rain it on down.
What else can you throw at me
I haven't heard before?
And tear me on down.
I am unforgivable.
So why don't you just tell me
What you really think of me?
And scream me on down
I am so forgettable
Yes, I know.
And shoot me on down
Don't you think this isn't killing me?
But it's no more than I deserve.
I don't care what you call me.
Because it won't hurt any more.
You never made much sense
We never stood a chance,
If we're honest.
And I won't be the last,
But if it makes it better,
Well you can call me what you will.
No one's here.

Lets get the ball rolling...this guy is a GENIUS!!!
He's picked up where he left off with Easyworld with beautiful lyrics and a wonderful voice (some things never change).
In Glasgow last week the crowd were in awe.
I had the pleasure of seeing him twice at Bonnaroo. He was easily the best act there. Thats right. Check the Bonnaroo 06 lineup, and i say it with complete confidence. He was the best there.
Great song. Not too tough to figure out. As said before, great voice.
volssuck07,
While I agree with you that the Vols do in fact suck (Go Dores!), I have to disagree with your comment. David Ford is great, but definitely was not the best act at Bonnaroo. Where were you during My Morning Jacket's late night show at 3:00 in the morning? Were you asleep during Radiohead's show? :)
absolutely beautiful, he knows exactly how to start a song and build on it. Such a great song and songwriter. I hope he comes to chicago soon.
I believe this song is about him being told how worthless he may be in a relationship. Worthless could be a harsh word, but hes pretty much saying that he doesnt care what she has to say because he has heard it all over again. Everything she says now has no effect on him when hes already reached his low.
He recognizes his mistakes and obviously she does too. Great song, but im all for the beat.

they're bitter and angry and hateful, not afraid to tear each other down, her in particular i think. he just can't be bothered defending himself anymore so he agrees with her to keep peace. gorgeous song. he's just got such an amazing voice.
