Flaming Pie Lyrics

Makin' love underneath the bed
Shooting stars from a purple sky
I don't care how I do it.
I'm the man on the flaming pie

Stick my tongue out and lick my nose
Tuck my shirt in and zip my fly
Go ahead, have a vision.
I'm the man on the flaming pie

Now, everything I do has a simple explanation.
When I'm with you, you could do with a vacation
I took my brains out and stretched ‘em on a rack
Now I'm not so sure I'm gonna get 'em back

Cut my toes off to spite my feet.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry
Never mind, check my rhythm.
I'm the man on the flaming pie

I'm the man on the flaming pie
Now everything I do has a simple explanation
When I'm with you, you could do with a vacation.
I took my brains out and stretched ‘em on the rack.
Now I'm not too sure I'm gonna to get 'em back.

I think, the character "the man on the flaming pie" was from John Lennon's story about how they came up with thir bands name The Beatles. I'll post John's story later.

Naturally not dismissing the validity of John’s story when it shows up [see handsdown4 …] but I am the man on the flaming pie doing concurrent entity with well … the flaming pie and I’m just the kind of dude who isn’t going to explain that further. He’s the kind who would stick his tongue out and lick his nose in my vision and everything does have a simple explanation but that doesn’t mean I hear it. Anyone listening to him could do with a vacation—he’s so frightfully adept at head games. And yes, together we would figuratively cut my nose off to spite my feet. Frequently I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry and did both to excess but never mind—check our rhythm! And so it goes …

The line about "making love underneath the bed" - I assume either Sir Paul has a very high bed, or he could be talking about a bunk bed, if you were doing it on the bottom bunk you would be underneath the bed :)

These lyrics are clearly very silly. Perhaps is an homage to Lennon, so well known for his wit?

John said a man came to him on a flaming pie and said you will be Beatles with an A. Is Paul saying he came up with Beatles with an A?

The beckles is right.

When a reporter asked about the beatles name, Lennon said "a man came down to me one night and said 'you will be the beetles, with an a!", just to have a laugh and get rid of the reporter.

This song is about saying anything to the reporters (or anyone else for that matter) and seeing if they believe it.
