I think the song is about the heartbreak and hurt that results from being abandoned by someone for someone else...
Definitely about a relationship that ends because one part is interested in some other girl, the narrator loves this person so very much that even so is decided to let go off this person because is not happy with her, even though she thinks he doesn't even know what he wants.
