If I had you Lyrics
If I Had You
The other day I saw you walking
you looked as pretty as a peach
you looked so near
but yet somehow, you're out of reach
I could change the world
if I had you
I could change the world
if I had you
My daddy told me not to worry
he said "son it always comes
to he who waits"
but as I wait I fear sometimes
"oh, no! it's too late"
I could change the world
if I had you
I could change the world
if I had you
(Instrumental break)
I could change the world
if I had you
I could change the world
if I had you
you looked as pretty as a peach
you looked so near
but yet somehow, you're out of reach
if I had you
I could change the world
if I had you
he said "son it always comes
to he who waits"
but as I wait I fear sometimes
"oh, no! it's too late"
if I had you
I could change the world
if I had you
if I had you
I could change the world
if I had you

...this was their other big hit although is lessor known today. I actually prefer this one to "Everybody's got to learn somtime". This song speaks for itself - unrequited love - wishing and hoping - believing that the world is their oyster if they only had this person they probably will never have... how many of us have had this experience?
refer to my comment on 'everybody's gotta learn sometime'!
This song totally tugs at my heart strings. I know exactly what he is singing about.. for about 5 times now. Despite the almost too close to home nature of the song there is also some comfort. Nice song.
