Cut It Up Lyrics

so you're sinking kinda fast
that a great big light was your past
this is more than waking up
when you're still at the bar
hanging around with the queens after dark
we've come a long way to end up lost
we're drifting, yeah were drifting along
oh lord

cut it up until the pain goes away

everything of the enemy's a little more green
and everyone's wearing just a little decay
cut it up and hand it over
i don't wanna remember

cut it up until the pain goes away

when the ship done sinks
and the crews are drowned
what am i gonna do
am i hanging around
this cruise is ending
please hang on to yourself
thank you for coming
and thanks for the lung

let's cut it up 'til the pain goes away

It's obviously about cocaine use. Cuting is a term asscioated with preparing cocaine for use.

"Cut it up and hand it over, I dont want to remember"

This means hes using cocaine to forget painful memories.

"this is more than waking up when you're still at the bar"

His cocaine use is worse than alcohism.

Thats what I think the song is about, not "emo haircuts"

Odzuba is on the money. It is most definitely about coke; the lyrics make this rather apparent to anyone familiar with the drug. Except, the correct line there is actually 'This is morning, waking up when you're still at the bar'--which also ties in perfectly with cocaine usage.
