Lay Low Lyrics

Lay low why don't ya now?
Lay back awhile and I'll show ya, I got the good that you want no
need to go and, hunt something else, it's right here with me, when you stay.
It's always good when I get to see that there's never more than what you're telling me when you
stay, home.
Lay low if the feel is right, (let the fetus rock) I got all that I want here in you tonite and we'll pass out
on the bedroom floor after goin like this (full tilt) so long.
Hold up, you showed me.
Oh what you told me, it's not what you want but what you need it's not
a head full of booze (pills) or amphetamines, when you stay.
It's always good when I get to see that there's never more than what you're telling me when you
stay, home

I think this is my favorite song off of 'Z'.

I would ALMOST say that, because the subtleties can definitely lure you in, but Dondante is in my opinion a higher tier than lay low. Also, Into the Woods is one of the darkest songs I think I've ever heard, but in a way I can not yet describe, is one of the best. It definitely reminds me of Jethro Tull, who I love. Dondante reminds me of what may could have been a classic Led Zepellin hit, great crescendos and just unfiltered 420 lyrics, but mostly speaks of a band that is in tune with everything...

Mine too, almost sounds like it could be a radio single, which is a lot more than I can say for most of their other songs, not that thats a bad thing.

"Oh what you told me, it's not what you want but what you need it's not a head full of booze (pills) or amphetamines, when you stay"

potentially meaning his girlfriend is so much better than booze/drugs. but when shes not there its what he turns to...."its not a head full of booze...etc WHEN YOU STAY"

comments?

i thought he was talking more along the lines that his gf does the pills etc. when she goes out and thats y he wants her to stay home among othr reasons

it shows him that his girlfriend cares about him when she chooses to stay home with him instead of going out and getting drunk, etc.

open to suggestions....

It's a drug abuse song. In this instance it's about stopping, for at least awhile. MMJ don't normally hide their meanings behind deep metaphors, and this is no exception.
