Let Him Fly Lyrics

Ain't no talkin to this man
Ain't no pretty other side
Ain't no way to understand the stupid words of pride
It would take an acrobat, and I already tried all that so
I'm gonna let him fly (let him fly)
Things can move at such a pace
The second hand just waved goodbye
You know the light has left his face
But you can't recall just where or why
So there was really nothing to it
I just went and cut right through it
I said I'm gonna let him fly, ooh yeah

There's no mercy in the live wire
No rest at all in freedom
Of the choices we are given it's no choice at all
The proof is in the fire
You touch before it moves away, yeah
But you must always know how long to stay and when to go

And there ain't no talkin to this man
He's been tryin to tell me so
It took awhile to understand the beauty of just letting go
Cause it would take an acrobat, I already tried all that
I'm gonna let him fly
I'm gonna let him fly
I'm gonna let him fly

To me this song is about a girl trying to put up with a guy that always hurt her and was just impossible, and she tried untill she realized she shouldn't have to put up with it since he isn't putting much of an effort back into the relationship, and instead of trying to help something that is beyond repair, she justs lets him go since she thinks it's just the best for both of them, and she realizes she needs to be away from him since all he does is put her down, and even he tells her they don't belong, and for the longest time she didn't believe him and kept on trying, untill finally, she just let him fly away.

Bascially a beautiful song about letting go and realizing the extent one would go through "it would take an acrobat and I've already tried all that," was all in vain. She tried to make it work and acknowledges the fact that he didn't, hence there is nothing left for her to do but "let him fly," and with that, she is now able to spread her wings as well. A song about finding peace with release!

I must agree with @lovinlife101, and i too am in a very similar relationship where i wish i could find the courage to let go, and "let him fly." It is so difficult though... when things are good, they are incredibly perfect. But when they are bad, its such mental torment and torture. I know that i deserve so much more, but the love i have is so enormous for him. I get so confused. I feel so connected and tormented at the same time.

@1msjanuary we. Do deserve so much more! Idk you. But... we so do!

I've always felt this song was about someone losing their religion.
