Fix what’s wrong, but don’t rewrite what the artist wrote. Stick to the official released version — album booklet, label site, verified lyric video, etc. If you’re guessing, pause and double-check.
Respect the structure
Songs have rhythm. Pages do too. Leave line breaks where they belong. Don’t smash things together or add extra empty space just for looks.
Punctuation counts (but vibe-editing doesn’t)
Correct typos? Yes. Re-punctuating a whole verse because it ‘looks better’? Probably not. Keep capitalization and punctuation close to the official source.
Don’t mix versions
If you’re editing the explicit version, keep it explicit. If it’s the clean version, keep it clean. No mashups.
Let the lyrics be lyrics
This isn’t the place for interpretations, memories, stories, or trivia — that’s what comments are for. Keep metadata, translations, and bracketed stage directions out unless they’re officially part of the song.
Edit lightly
If two lines are wrong… fix the two lines. No need to bulldoze the whole page. Think ‘surgical,’ not ‘remix.’
When in doubt, ask the crowd
Not sure what they’re singing in that fuzzy bridge? Drop a question in the comments and let the music nerds swarm. Someone always knows.
its weird because the first time i heard this band, i was sitting alone in my room and put the album on and after the first 2 minutes of the album i had tears coming down my face, it was the most beautiful music i have ever heard in my life. this was the first song i heard, it changed my life.
almost the same story with me. i downloaded these guys on a whim, not really knowing what to expect. and this was the first song i heard and i knew i heard something special from the second i heard it.
I agree, this song's first 2 minutes is a true masterpiece of post-rock. Emotional, heavy, crushing and atmospheric. I love the effects and the riff. In fact, those 2 minutes are probably the best 2 minutes of music altogether IMO.
i've actually had this song playing when i felt closest to death.. and by the end of the song i felt reborn.. restoration at a spiritual level.. this song is beautifully cathartic..
This song is quite something. It is always the song i reach out to when i'm really worked up, stressed, angry, or the likes. The heavy beginning of the song always seems to open up a gate to let my stress out then when the famous guitar riff steps in, it's like a giant wind pushing from behind. Then it gets quiet and calm, and the gates slowly close; free of troubles of all kinds. Truly truly an impressive work of music.
