I don't know but I really like this song...It's about all the fun stuff that happens in the summer and just don't try to do things fast...Summers are very memorable, enjoy them...
This song wasn't one that jumped out at me right away from the cd (Second Chances and Keep Dreaming Upside Down claimed fame to that) but this song really grew on me. It's pretty straight forward, and I agree with pianogirl; summers are really memorable.

I took it as it was a summer fling, where the guy actually fell in love with the girl. Now, I have two meanings possible. They had a summer love, and she just unexpectedly left (...so unexpected, I know you meant it) but he still loves her after Or, she has a reputation (...but couldn't trust her) and he still loves her after a summer fling.
