Blue Mind Lyrics
Got no time
Got no mind
For the line
In my life
No time to think
Time for sleep now
Time to sink way into the blue, dear
Got no time
Got no mind
For the line
In this life
No time to think
Time for sleep now
Time to sink way into the blue, dear
So watch your time
Time descends
Let it spill quietly
From your hands
Oh, and the time is at hand
When all things under the sky
Go free of time
Time is passing you by
Got no time
And I am drifting
Yes, I am drifting
Remember when you were only a child
Remember when you were only a child
Remember when you were only a child
Start to see with your blue mind
Start to see with your blue mind
Don't be afraid of what you find
No, don't be afraid of what you find
(Don't stop your heart)
Cause I am drifting
Yes, I am drifting
Slowly, slowly I am drifting
Slowly, slowly I am drifting
Yes, slowly, slowly I am drifting
Got no mind
For the line
In my life
No time to think
Time for sleep now
Time to sink way into the blue, dear
Got no mind
For the line
In this life
No time to think
Time for sleep now
Time to sink way into the blue, dear
Time descends
Let it spill quietly
From your hands
Oh, and the time is at hand
When all things under the sky
Go free of time
Time is passing you by
Got no time
And I am drifting
Yes, I am drifting
Remember when you were only a child
Remember when you were only a child
Start to see with your blue mind
Start to see with your blue mind
Don't be afraid of what you find
No, don't be afraid of what you find
(Don't stop your heart)
Cause I am drifting
Yes, I am drifting
Slowly, slowly I am drifting
Slowly, slowly I am drifting
Yes, slowly, slowly I am drifting

ive thought the same thing. that its about falling asleep. however, i think its more about dreaming, or rather, the need to dream. letting go of time, allowing your imagination and subconscious take reign... a time to stop thinking.
when you dream, time is fluid. you often have intricate dreams that seem to span hours, and yet you wake up to find only several minutes have passed. you let go of time. when you dream, your imagination takes control and has capabilities that are comparable to that of a child. as an adult, you often neglect your imagination's capabilities. remember when the sidewalk was lava? or your car was under the dining room table? that sense of reality is often what occurs in your dream state.
gradually, at the end of the song, he drifts off to sleep and begins to dream.
i really like this song. i really like dreaming.
It's a lullaby. The blue is a relaxing sleep. He's telling us to let go of life's problems and just relax, remember what it was like to be a child with few worries. There's not time to think about problems now, now it's time to sleep.
At least that's what I think.
Oh my Lord, I know what this song is about. When I was only a child sometimes before I wan't to sleep, I would go into this odd state of mind, It was so calm, and it happened right before I drifted out of consciousness on some rare nights. The only way I ever could describe it was "blue." I called it "my blue feeling" It was so peaceful, I just stopped thinking in a way. Like was just an observer of a clam "blue" world, or dreaming while I was still awake. I loved it, but it didn't happen every night, only on rare occasions. In this state, I would sometimes think, "Oh! I'm in the blue feeling", and immediately I would snap back into normalcy, angry at myself for letting the blue go. It hasn't happened since I was about 12. I have never found anybody who has known the blue feeling, but when I heard this song, I knew that this is what it is about.
Hardly anybody has commented this guy! I've just heard his stuff for the first time today and I adore it all! It's so chilled out, mmm. As for the meaning of this one, I'm not sure... It's about thinking and remembering abd stuff, but I'm not sure what he means by 'the blue'. Maybe its his thoughts?
Yeah, I think that's a really good interpretaion. It does lull me to sleep actually. Thanks :)
Yeah these lyrics are wrong. Close!! But no cigar!
I love this song, and I'm actually trying to learn all of Alexi's songs by ear.
ANYWAY, its "drift way into the blue deep" and "So watch your time, turn to sand" not "Time descends" and it should be "No time is passing you by"
Other than that, well done figuring them out. (I'm kind-of a perfectionist when it comes to songs I REALLY like)
To me, this song is about taking the time to reflect. As adults we become caught up in our obligations and activities and have precious little time to be with ourselves. "Got no time, Got no mind, For the line in this life" is about not having or taking time to see the big picture of our lives. The only time we slip into our "blue mind" is when we are asleep and our imagination is free to roam. But time is short and "turning to sand". This song suggests we "go free of time", don't live in the past or the future but in the present moment. The present is free of time because we cannot really measure it. We knew how to do this when we were children. We lived and reflected and imagined in the present moment. Do you remember being able to do that? Do you remember how life seemed to hold infinite meaning and depth? We can do that again if we try, but it's hard to let go sometimes. If we can experience the present moment in a fuller way, we will see more clearly where we have been and where we are going. Great song.
