Best Friend's Arm Lyrics
??? liar
i can see, i can see, i can see, i can see
???? ah come on, let's go
i can see, i can see, i can see, i can see
yeah baby i've lost ???
??
i can see, i can see, i can see, i can see
everybody looks like
i can see, i can see, i can see, i can see
when you lay that down with an eight-eight track, everybody laughs
but they don't know what you're sayin'
i can see, i can see, i can see, i can see
??? i guess if not...
i can see, i can see, i can see, i can see
keep it under your best friend's arms [x9]
keep it under
???? ah come on, let's go
i can see, i can see, i can see, i can see
i can see, i can see, i can see, i can see
everybody looks like
i can see, i can see, i can see, i can see
when you lay that down with an eight-eight track, everybody laughs
but they don't know what you're sayin'
i can see, i can see, i can see, i can see
??? i guess if not...
i can see, i can see, i can see, i can see
keep it under

This is song is so much fun, but I don't think the lyrics mean anything in particular. My understanding is that is the case with all Pavement lyrics.
smack dab in the middle of 'wowee zowee' the most important track, 'keep this record secret to all but your best friend' pavement doesn't want to succumb to the success they are experiencing or they would have made 'BTC' after 'CRCR'. the final lyrics from 'extraditon' are "saw you curl" suggesting pavement fans are cringing at the first nine tracks, while the first lines of 'grave architecture' are "come on in" if you like what you hear you are welcome to enjoy 25 minutes or so more of alt pop bliss.
this is one of my favorite songs on wowee zowee
This song always makes me smile. The jubilant babbling and the way the drum beat comes in at the beginning ("One, two, three, four!") are just awesome.
Keep it under your best friend's arm.
I really wish someone could figure out what the lyrics to this are :( I don't think Malkmus even remembers, though. Also, there's a live version of it, a much slower and less hectic version at that, but the lyrics he sings in that are clearly being made up on the spot and sound nothing like the fragments I can understand in the original version :( I guess the world will just never know what's really said on the original version of this fabulous song
One of my favourite tracks on Wowee Zowee.I love how this song makes completely no sense (or does it?) yet still sounds so damn good.
ha ha, fatkid1041, +10 for effort.
pretty sure the last set of ???s should be "have you got a little space for JBLs." That's all I've got. Good luck.
brilliant malkmus babbling ::
