Marconi's Radio Lyrics
If heaven's just a calming blow
Then I think I'd rather know
Although it's hard to say that nothing's wrong
When nothing's changed
And yet if God were here alone with me
And I could say anything
I believe I could rest assured She's quite the same
But when people fight to stay inside
What I don't understand
We could leave today, tonight
We'd be fine
'Cause there's something that we define
There's no end in sight
Could you please save us all the time?
Forget about what never was
The point, I guess, won't ever come
'Til you're certain, we can all agree
We'll see
You get scared and I get angry
Being lost, feeling lazy
Not at all like you
Not you
But if emptiness is all we've got
And understanding doesn't help at all
Still you're certain there's a place for me
We'll see
We're going to make a radio
We'll make you stay home and say so
Then I think I'd rather know
Although it's hard to say that nothing's wrong
When nothing's changed
And I could say anything
I believe I could rest assured She's quite the same
What I don't understand
We could leave today, tonight
We'd be fine
There's no end in sight
Could you please save us all the time?
The point, I guess, won't ever come
'Til you're certain, we can all agree
We'll see
Being lost, feeling lazy
Not at all like you
Not you
And understanding doesn't help at all
Still you're certain there's a place for me
We'll see
We'll make you stay home and say so

Guglielmo Marconi invented the wireless telegraph, rightfully nicknamed 'Marconi's Radio'
i thought the last lyric was : "marconi didn't make the radio for me to stay home and say so"
also, to Fryie, there are two songs w/Marconi in the title [off the same album]- this one and the reprise, which is just a calypso steel-drum sounding instrumental. you need to get this one cause it's better.
annnnnd... this song is awesome.
It's about waking up and realizing you're wasting your life dreaming. You have no right to complain things don't happen for you if you don't set things in motion yourself.
Is it possible that there are two tracks named "Marconi's Radio"? 'Cause the one I have here is just instrumental and only 2:46 long.
this song is a tribute to marconi for creating the radio but within this tribute they tap into the spiritual relm as well as relationship stuff, yeah im fucked up right now but its cool i can do this, the whole instrumental beginning is really the best part, leading up to the lyrics witch are freakin awesome, one of teh best songs an A+ on my list.
the last line is incorrect on this too, its "Marconi did make the radio, for me to stay home and say so"
This song shows me how inspired and energized the machines were at first. Great lyrics about being in search for something (maybe a greater good), very adholescent/pre-collegesque, liberal ideas. But altogether great, because when so many young kids are thinking like that, they need a muse. My favorite part of the song is 'You get scared and I get angry, (at) Being lost, feeling lazy, Not at all like you, Not you". Thanks TSM. Sorry that your latest work (Ten Silver Drops) sucks so bad.
