I think that this song is about growing up and having more adult thoughts and opinions (like world news and politics). He's apologizing to his parents that may be sad by seeing their boy growing up, and sometimes rebel, by not doing what they're told, but he wants to be an adult, and everybody has to grow up. That's what I think
LaVitaBella, if I remember correctly, Katie is the name of his former girlfriend. I read it in a news article. They've since broken up. But don't take me at my word, because I don't know for sure.
Thanks! Yeah, I looked at the acknowledgements on the album, and it says, "Katie, you inspired so much of this album, thanks for always being so understanding and being there for me." So that's what I thought, too. Just wondering.

haha. don;t flatter urself. his mom called him like 20 times a day to make sure he;s alright. that's where it all came from.
first off, teddy is incredible. and not to mention extremely hot. but anyways. this is one of my favorite songs on his album. hes at the age that he wish his parents would trust him. they have done all they could for him and now they have to "cut the string" and see what happens. he thinks hes ready. hes "overall that underage can be" hes no longer underage and he belives he learened everything there is possibly to learn. although hes wrong, at least in my opioion. my favorite line is "just like gravity the ups and downs will always be okay with me" theres gonna be bad times and good times in your life, but life still goes on. just like gravity- it never ends. and no matter how bad things get, you'll get through it. pretty much teddy is ready to be a man, and hes telling his parents to trust him because 'he will find his way'.
oleyoleyoleyo::when he wrote this song he was still underage...his album came out like a looong time before his eighteenth birthday. but yeah i completly agree with the rest of it
oh and Katie is his x-gf. that im almost like 97% sure about.
this is a great song and my favorite, and i definatly can relate. hes saying he just wants his parents to realize hes getting older. and its time for them to let him get older, adn not treat him like a kid anymore. hes changing and they need to realize that. hes tired of being treated like a kid. and hes also noticing that hes getting older and more mature. great song, great lyrics hes amazing.
