For me, this song kind of contradicts itself. People think her middle name is Trouble, but she's like a Monday morning? Doesn't really fit, in my mind.
it doesn't contradict itself. it's pretty much saying "this person is no good for you" trouble is bad, monday mornings usually suck (hence friday being a much more fun place to be).
i think this song is about her friend, and everyone in the singers life is telling her to get out of the friendship because Caroline is trouble. she really loves to hang out with her friend though so she wont. thats what i get out of it anyway. she sings so pretty.
Basically she adores Caroline, and when they say the usual bad-news metaphors like "her middle name is trouble!" she takes them literally, cheerfully disagrees, and goes on adoring her.
I think it's naive to think they're friends!
