I'm so sorry for what I've done
I went in to it like a man
Now the only thing on my skin
Is some beach blown images

With every corner
That you have
You don't miss me
But I really don't mind
Don't float around girl
It'll be alright

And the hardest thing that I've done
Is laying down with someone
And the idiots in Detroit
Well they've all gone sour
Everyone lies

With every corner
That you have
You really don't miss me
But I really don't mind
Don't float around girl
It'll be alright
It'll be alright, tomorrow

I'm so sorry for what I've done

i think this is about screwing up, or lying to someone. and the person has lied enough to someone special and now hes realizing the damage. maybe he's a salesman from the title, and we all know they lie through their teeth.

Laying down with someone could explain him cheating on someone, i didn't see it before. makes kinda sense. It might be guilt that makes him not mind the fact that he's not missed? I have to say that not what i thought it was originally about but i'm changing my mind now. I thought it was about love lost and how time takes it's toll in healing to the point of not feeling love anymore... or is that a load of crap too.. anyway, this is one of my favourite rogue wave songs because of it's beautiful mellow sound.

I think that the line "And the hardest thing that I've done/ Is laying down with someone" doesn't refer at all to cheating... that just doesn't really make any sense... maybe if it said "most regrettable" or something. I think that line refers to how it can be really hard to just commit yourself in a relationship. Beyond that I can't really figure out this song

This song got my attention the first time I heard it, and I've loved it ever since. The meaning of this song can be kind of vague...I guess he's realized the mistake he made in that past relationship and wants to that person to know, even if the person doesn't want anything to do with him, hence the "You don't miss me but I really don't mind." Anyway, it's a good song. (:

I think it's about how this guy really might have screwed up in a relationship with this girl, and they're both over it. But it probably caused some damage. I think he is saying that he regrets it. But they're over anyway. The lyrics aren't the best part of the song but its quuuiiiittte a good song.

Beautiful simplicity. If you like The Shins, you'll love Rogue Wave.

I think it's not only the male in the relationship thats done wrong.

I'm so sorry for what I've done I went in to it like a man Now the only thing on my skin Is some beach blown images

I think the singer means that he apologized and confessed the facts "like a man" - he's cheated (the hardest thing that I've done, is laying down with someone) - but is now drained, and although he is sorry ('for what I've done') It's her turn to confess her wrong doings, although she can't - referring to her corners. "Don't float around girl, it'll be alright", may mean that she should finally confess, because they're both over it "You really don't miss me But I really don't mind"

ekk, I have no idea, but the songs amazing, along with rogue wave.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
