Things That Scare Me Lyrics
Flourescent lights engage
Blackbirds fryin' on a wire
Same birds that followed me
To school when I was young
Were they trying to tell me something?
Were they tellin' me to run?
The hammer clicks in place
The world's gonna pay
Right down in the face of god and his saints
Claim your soul's not for sale
I'm a dyin' breed
Who still believes
Haunted by American dreams
Haunted by American dreams
Blackbirds fryin' on a wire
Same birds that followed me
To school when I was young
Were they trying to tell me something?
Were they tellin' me to run?
The world's gonna pay
Right down in the face of god and his saints
Claim your soul's not for sale
I'm a dyin' breed
Who still believes
Haunted by American dreams

this was my first Neko song, a few years ago... and still gives me chills when she sings "I'm a dying breed who still believes, haunted by... american dreams"... Neko is a powerful composer and this song is to date on the top 5 on my list.
This reminds me of Death of a Salesman... a guy who sold himself out for a shot at the "American Dream" and has nothing now... To me, he seems to be about to kill himself(hammer clicks in place) or go on a killing spree.
This song is underappreciated perfection.
I don't know why but this song just makes me feel so alive.
