No Easy Way Out Lyrics
We're not industructable
Baby better get that straight
I think it's unbelieveable
How we give in to the hands of fate
Somethings are worth fighting for
Some feelings never die
I'm not asking for another chance
I just want to know why
There's no easy way out
There's no shortcut home
There's no easy way out
Giving in can't be wrong
I don't want to passify you
I don't want to drag you down
But I'm feeling like a prisoner
Like a stranger in a no-name town
I see only angry faces
I'm afraid that could be you and me
Talking about what might have been
Thinking about what used to be
There's no easy way out
There's no shortcut home
There's no easy way out
Giving in can't be wrong
Baby, baby we can shed this skin
We can know how we feel inside
Instead of going down an endless road
Not knowing if we're dead or alive
There's no easy way out
There's no short cut home
There's no easy way out
Giving in, giving in can't be wrong, no
There's no easy way out
There's no easy way out
There's no shortcut home
There's no shortcut home
There's no easy way out
There's no easy, no easy, no easy way out
There's no easy way out
There's no shortcut home
There's no easy way out
Giving in can't be wrong
Baby better get that straight
I think it's unbelieveable
How we give in to the hands of fate
Some feelings never die
I'm not asking for another chance
I just want to know why
There's no shortcut home
There's no easy way out
Giving in can't be wrong
I don't want to drag you down
But I'm feeling like a prisoner

There's no easy way out
Giving in, giving in can't be wrong, no
There's no easy way out
There's no shortcut home
There's no shortcut home
There's no easy way out
There's no easy, no easy, no easy way out
There's no shortcut home
There's no easy way out
Giving in can't be wrong

Robert Tepper:
“No Easy Way Out” was written about my first divorce. It is an end of a relationship song. And yes it was the end. As far as the recording of it, Guy Marshall suggested we start with an intro and break in from there. It’s interesting in the fact the song has a double intro and gets away with it. The recording was special for many reasons. Great contributors on that song. Dann Huff, the very famous country producer/session guitarist, played guitar on it. Guy Marshall took an awesome solo. Pat Benatar’s drummer, Myron Grombacher. Great mix by Joe Chiccarelli. And of course a good vocal day for me. I remember feeling good about the vocal afterwards.

The song reminds me everytime when i'm feeling angry, upset, happy, sad. etc. Love this song
i think it means that you must take on all challenges and not go the easy route to get out of things. its very inspirational how the line says
giving in cant be wrong. he is basically trying to talk himself into giving up instead of fighting for what is right or what he believes in.yea it's a great motivation song that can be about anything-be it losing weight, doing an exam, getting over berevament...any challenge that it's not gonna be easy but to keep going

It's great for working out and stuff. It's also the song at the moment that motivates me to not let setbacks get the better of me as I try to get back into good scoring form and ultimately get into the champions league (metaphorical).

This is a good song, why nobody has posted a comment on this, I don't know why.
the song to me speaks of one having to have extreme perseverance and hard work in the face of exhaustion, temptation and adversity. Obviously it's an appropriate song for rocky as it play along wonderfully to the mountain rocky has to climb-training hard and dieting hard for his next challenge. But this song speaks to all of us- it's about having goals/dreams and reaching them and knowing that to achieve them we have to work very hard and dedicate ourselves as 'there's no easy way out'. That goals can be anything from raising our children properly and working hard to support them even though you have no time for yourself, dieting and training and having to sacrifice your favourite foods or studying to pass your exams at school... It's generally a song about applying ourselves to our dreams and goals whatever they may be and not losing focus but to work hard to achieve them no matter how much it stresses us because only then success happens.

There's no easy way out and about a love story which obviosly hasent stoped imidiately our condolenses are with you and in you and the most profoundly Amen and for-ever. Isn't this st****. I'm a soulder I will stand my ground I will fight till I die intill I see that last soul standing my man. Yes indeed martyr! Last man standing...

Tepper talks about how the song wasn't written for Rocky IV. He says the song is about suicide. Seems like he was in a dark place, wronged by a close friend, and considering an "easy way out" when he came up with the idea for the song.

LMAO at the comment about Rocky being in love with Apollo :D
No really, all joking aside. This song is about Rocky feeling desperate in Rocky 4 after Apollo's death and his need to avenge his friend and his need to reconcile it with his wife Adrian who he has a huge argument with before driving off in his car with this song.
"YOU CAN'T WIN"
Rocky is at a crossroads here and during the song there are flashbacks of happier times (throughout the first 3 Rocky movies) and then sad ones (Rocky and Mickey, Rocky and Apollo Rocky and Adrian etc.)
This is Rocky at a desperate moment considering whether he should give up or not "There's no easy way out, there's no shortcut home, There's no easy way out, Giving in can't be wrong" The road ahead (Russia, training, Drago etc.) is gonna be tough and he's wondering if he's gonna be able for it and whether he might bring Adrian and his kid down with him.
I liked Acestanley’s interpretation. That’s what I get out of this song as well. I found Jay’s post about Robert intended this song to mean. Thanks for both posts above. This is a great app - one that I am brand new to as of today. Thanks for these insightful contributions.
This song has always spoken to me. My mom always said that I never took the easy way out. Now I'm in the midst of the fight of my life and there is no easy way out and I can't give up. I must fight the good fight and ask God to help me. I feel like Rocky now. God give me the strength to fight courageously and without fear or ceasing.
