it is a good song. but its weird cause i remember hearing it once (months ago) and loving it so much! now that i have the song... i dont know. not a fav outa the hottest 100 but it is good as it reminds me of other artists like jack johnson...
I think it's about father-child relationships. Like when he sings:

Like he's thinking about his own father, and then about his child, and if they'll remain close even when he grows to be an old man. And when he says:

It's like he's speaking to a young child, like advising her, to be careful as she goes into the working world.

i agree interrobang.. when i listened to this song i immediatly thought about how me and my dad have grown far apart but no matter how far we have drifted i only have to "hollar when its S.O.S" hes an amazing writer
