Girlfight Lyrics

There's about to be a girl fight

(Lil Jon)
Hey, some new shit yea
Brooke Valentine
Lil Jon
Sending this one out to all the ladies that got beef with another bitch
Just walk to that bitch and tell her, what you tell her
There's about to be a girl fight

We about to throw them bones
We about to swing them things

We about to throw them bones
We about to swing them things

There's about to be a (what?) girl fight

There she goes talking her mess
All around town making me stress
I need to get this off my chest
And if her friend wants some then she'll be next
It really ain't that complicated
Ya'll walking around looking all frustrated
Want some plex come on let's make it
Ya acting real hard but I know ya faking

I know you really don't wanna step to dis
I really don't know why you talking shit
You about to catch one right in the lip
It's about to be a what?
Girl fight

I know you really don't wanna step to dis
I really don't know why you talking shit
You about to catch one right in the lip
It's about to be a what?
Girl fight

We about to throw them bones
We about to swing them things

We about to throw them bones
We about to swing them things

We on our way to ya neighborhood
The reason why we coming is understood
Me and my girls we down to ride
So when you hear us pull up bring it outside
And you try to call your cousin and them
Don't forget that I got some of them
Bout to go real hard bout to swing them thangs

Bout to feel elbows all in your brain
I know you really don't wanna step to dis
I really don't know why you talking shit
You about to catch one right in the lip
It's about to be a what?
Girl fight

We about to throw them bones
We about to swing them things

We about to throw them bones
We about to swing them things

Oh I know you don't want me to split your dome
Oh I know you don't want me to split your dome
I'm about to bruise your face and that's sad

(Big Boi)
Oh snap
These bitches they act like cats
In the middle of the dance floor
now they preparing to scrap
They taking out their scrunchies and pulling off their press-ons
The one on the right is the girlfriend and the one on the left is the other woman
Someone please call security
These girls are too pretty
To get down to the nitty titty
I mean the nitty gritty
I mean her titty's pretty
I'm tripping being silly willy
Man, go on let them hoes fight

We about to throw them bones
We about to swing them things

We about to throw them bones
We about to swing them things

Don't act like you don't know
We right outside your door
See you peeking out the window
I know we ain't talking noise no more

Don't act like you don't know
We right outside your door
See you peeking out the window
I know we ain't talking noise no more

This is a great anthem to any girl in the hood that needed to prove herself. Fighting in the hood is kind of like a right of passage. In middle school I noticed some girls were targeting me and I didn't know why. It was so annoying. Then finally i had enough and threw down. After that everyone left me alone. Fights happen a lot in the hood. Way more than in the burbs. I think women from the hood are harder and don't take verbal abuse lightly and aren't really scared to get their ass whooped.

The rap part of the song makes me uncomfortable. This is a nice song, very catchy and motivating, but every line from the male vocalist ruins it. He turns a song about strong women being violent into a song about two women fighting over an unfaithful guy who boinked them both-- and this rapper comments on their breasts and hair for absolutely no reason, and it throws off the mood of the song how upbeatly he says his piece. It makes me imagine two rival girl gangs meeting in an abandoned building or something to fight, and some dude drunkenly wandering in and loudly making rhymes about their breasts and how attractive they are, and none of the girls stopping to take notice of him because they're too busy pulling hair and kicking eachother's asses, and the man just won't leave and keeps standing there in the middle giggling and rhyming random things throughout the whole fight. The mental image is jarring to say the least. Cut out the rap part and the song is great.
