This song is amazing. I first heard it when I watched The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, during a great scene, and it fit perfectly.
I love his choice of words in his song, about technology and a-bombs. It's so good.
just a great song, this song is just fuckin awesome for lack of better words. And hell yeah the Stooges are better than the Sex Pistols by far always and forever. Sex Pistols....pfft

I think for the most part the song's simply about Iggy's partying behavior. The name was taken from a Time article about the Vietnam War, and you can see references to the war in the lyrics, like "heart full of napalm", "runaway son of the nuclear a-bomb", "Soul radiation in the dead of night", and "Love in the middle of a firefight"
