Dear Tragedy Lyrics

I'm never waking up again
so I'll never have to find out what you did.
Each day it's harder to pretend.
That your eyes aren't lying as much as your mouth did.

I'd grab your head by your hair and I'd hack it off.
And put it on display at the front of the yard
on a stick that's decorated with a little pink bow
and a sign that says "Her friends and family should have taught her more about love."

Dear Tragedy, I never had anybody.
But being alone wasn't half as bad as being obsessed
with a breath taker, a smile faker.
But these years alone have eaten me alive.

Recounting pages in a book.
That I'd torn out ashamed that one day you'd look.
Afraid that once you did you'd really know how it felt
to be a sucker on a string that you dragged around wherever you'd go.

I'm running around, around and it hurts.
Tempted to tape up the pages I'd ripped.
And although I recognize that we're attached at the lips,
you're the one in charge and that the captain's gotta sink with the ship.

I never had anybody.
But being alone wasn't half as bad as being obsessed
with a breath taker, a smile faker.
These years alone have eaten me alive.

Dear Tragedy, I never had anybody.
But being alone wasn't half as bad as being obsessed
with a breath taker, a smile faker.
years alone have eaten me alive.

Breath taker, smile faker,
How could I have let you in my life?
You're a breath taker, a smile faker.
These years alone have eaten me alive.

I never had anybody.
But being alone wasn't half as bad as being obsessed
with a breath taker, a smile faker.
(Dear Tragedy, Dear Tragedy)
These years alone have eaten me alive.
(You'll pay for what you did to me, you'll pay for you what did to me)

This song is about a guy that is always alone and when he finally finds someone he is obessed with her but she treats him like shit and controls him and eventually does something to piss him off enough for him to kill her.

The perfect ending to one of the best albums of last year. It's strangely comforting to roll the windows down with this song blasting on the stereo and singing along.

The meaning is pretty clear to me. The guy really loves someone but she takes advantage of his love. This taking advantage rips at him as he's already being destroyed by feeling so alone that he loses the desire to care anymore and grows to hate her.

'I'd grab your head by your hair and I'd hack it off. And put it on display at the front of the yard on a stick that's decorated with a little pink bow and a sign that says "Her friends and family should have taught her more about love."'

Is a dark line in the song, but for some reason it's one of my favourites. I think the song is about a guy who is obessed with a girl who obviously doesn't care about him, leads him on, and treats him like crap:

Dear Tragedy, I never had anybody. But being alone wasn't half as bad as being obsessed with a breath taker, a smile faker. But these years alone have eaten me alive.

So one day or gradually he relizes that she was useing him:

'I'm never waking up again so I'll never have to find out what you did. Each day it's harder to pretend. That your eyes aren't lying as much as your mouth did.'

I think that these pair of verses mean that, he didn't want to open up to her to let him know how he felt or else she would abuse it:

'Recounting pages in a book. That I'd torn out ashamed that one day you'd look. Afraid that once you did you'd really know how it felt to be a sucker on a string that you dragged around wherever you'd go.

I'm running around, around and it hurts. Tempted to tape up the pages I'd ripped. And although I recognize that we're attached at the lips, you're the one in charge and that the captain's gotta sink with the ship.'

And wants to go out and kill her, and seek revenge:

'You're the one in charge and that the captain's gotta sink with the ship...(You'll pay for what you did to me, you'll pay for you what did to me)'

That's what I'm guessing the song is about, other than that Bayside Rox My Ipod!

this song makes me think of my mom.

especially this: "Each day it's harder to pretend. That your eyes aren't lying as much as your mouth did.

I'd grab your head by your hair and I'd hack it off. And put it on display at the front of the yard on a stick that's decorated with a little pink bow and a sign that says 'Her friends and family should have taught her more about love.'"

She either cheats on him, or suddenly leaves him. He thinks about getting revenge, and how she doesn't know about love.

Even though he had never had someone, he admits that he'd rather be alone than deal with being strung along by someone who he really cared for, and who faked feelings back.

I think that he was alone all his life, until he found this girl, lets call her...Brooke. so he falls in love with her and becomes compleatly obsessed her. she treats him like shit all along but he doesn't see it. so finaly he does. he realizes that she's fake and useing him. so now he begins doing things to spite her

Tempted to tape up the pages I'd ripped. And although I recognize that we're attached at the lips, you're the one in charge and that the captain's gotta sink with the ship.

finaly he becomes so imbittered that he desides to make her pay at any cost even if it means he goes down with her...sweet revenge. you'll pay for what you did to me...
