The Other Side of Mt. Heart Attack

the thing that makes this song so excellent is its total contrast with the rest of the album. the album sets up this concept of a dichotomy of drum and mt. heart attack. drum is always portrayed as the more positive element of confidence while mt. heart attack is more cowardly, less assertive. in this final track however, we literally see "the other side of mt. heart attack." liars show that the dichotomy isn't entirely negative and positive, that mt. heart attack has some loving, loyal and altruistic attributes. liars again demonstrate that there aren't any real boundaries. the character of mt. heart attack maybe be cowardly but that doesn't mean it can't be sweet and sentimental.

I find this album difficult but overwhelmingly brilliant and brave. This song is an excellent finisher. The entire album resonated with me much like Closer or Kid A did. It takes a few more listen-throughs to become better accustomed with the mood and textures, but it's well worth it.

i'm not sure how i feel about this album thus far, but this song is beautiful.

This is a gorgeous song. It's very simple, but beautiful, and the meaning is clear. I especially like the bit "And I want you to find me, so I'll stay by your side."

this song very much suprises me, for it is very calm as compared to other liars work. amazing none the less!

i vote that this song should be renamed as 'the otherside of the liars', it's a contradiction to their usual heavier sound and it's just as good. a lot of good things have been said about this album- it seems to pop up everywhere, the yeah yeah yeahs, radiohead's website, mogwai's- i can understand why, it's brilliant

fantastic lyrics, very...challanging, to be honest. It's kind of strange, you'll find so many bands that try to force every feeling into a song and into their lyrics. They try to convey one feeling with the beat and melody, and three or four more with the lyrics, but Liars have hit the nail on the head here, they mix music and lyrics in a perfect harmony, a symbiosis if you will. Listening to it allows me to reflect, more forces me to reflect on my past relationships, and the times when I felt and said this. And how much I meant it at the time. It's strange how the currents of life carry you along with no regard for what you want, and I think this song captures the two things that humans need to anchor themselves in that storm. Love and loyalty.

karen o of the yeahyeahyeahs dated angus (singer of liars) so thats why maybe, but its terrific. its so simple. you either love or hate liars. i didnt understand them at first, but im pretty sure they changed the way i look at everything now. its beyond music. its beautiful.
