The Somnambulist Lyrics
Untie the gown, float to the ground
She revolve round, making no sound
Air leaving slow
Still breathing though
Decaying through brown, diving she's bound
Hours swum down, treasure unfound
Air leaving slow
Still breathing though

Just a quick question:
Who wrote/sang this? Was it Andy or Colin?
The Black Sea booklet doesn't reveal this information for this song, and the vocals are sung along with the low synthesiser, merging the two, making it hard to decipher whose voice it is.
It's alright - I now know that it was an Andy song afterall.
Yeah, this is a solitary trip by Andy. And what a strange trip... It floats and drifts, but never sinks, in blind-like darkness, music and lyrics... It's a sort of an ambient track, which is miles away from anything on 'Black Sea' (which might have been a good title for this song...)
Just XTC trying to be kinda hip. Heck, they do a pretty good job with it. Wouldn't sound out of place in Brian Eno's 'Before and After Science'.
Come to think of it, The recording does sound a lot like a Brian Eno recording. Speaking of Brian Eno, I once read that he briefly considered joining XTC. (See the section on the Chalkhills website about the Battery Brides song, If I recall correctly)
