At age 14, no inhibitions, I sure as hell didn't need your permission
Never looking forward, I was never looking back and I'd never known what's next
But as those days has gone by, both ignorant and blind
New visions of the world started filling my eyes
That is where I find
I'm lying awake, lost in time, with no reason to turn around and put it all aside, yeah
Here today, gone tomorrow while drowning in all of their sorrows
Years go by and we start to see
So many generations torn apart by poverty and greed
So many whining that their lives are so bad
But so much better than many, it's sad
So intoxicated by all of the madness and all of the pain they've been through
Hoping and searching, a world of dispair right outside, no more!

Those people are dying today

Like some people in our society
And it grows, planted like a seed
So what do we do when it comes down on you
Cries ring out as a chime for awakening
Taking the time to listen up, not turning away
Maybe showing interest could show them the light of day
