The Rape of Virtue Lyrics

You fall - so I walk away
Gone with your children's dreams of pain
And the deeper I reach, I fear not the righteous speech

Did you ever speak that name, a savaged word in vain
Cause I know that you got hunger for the cold and black

As I rape your soul of virtue
I am a god of lust and pain
Cold black
As I slay your soul of virtue
You are a slave of flesh and pain

You fell - So I walked away
And with the dying children I play
And the deeper we go, you're an act of a sinful show

Did you ever speak that name, a savaged word in vain
Cause I know that you got hunger for the cold and black

As I rape your soul of virtue
I am a god of lust and pain
Cold black
As I slay your soul of virtue
You are a slave of flesh and pain

We fell - So i raped your heart
Tore it out and ripped it apart...

Great song. By the way, it's "You are a slave of flesh and sin" and not "You are a slave of flesh and pain"

I think this song is about someone who is religious, Christian most likely, who wishes to be free of their religious chains, but is fearful of damnation. The vocalist is telling them that he fears not, and that they are merely a slave to their beliefs, and how he gladly stomps upon them and is the exact opposite of them.

I'm in agreement with Face-The-Darkness, except there's an element of the vocalist corrupting that Christian, and inspiring him to cast off his chains.

Is the "you" part also the religion/heavens/god, or is it the man who's trying to get away from the religion.

"You fell - So I walked away" So faith failed him, e.g. someone he loved died or whatnot And the last "We fell - So i raped your heart" So this time his belief really failed himself aswell, badly, so now he's ready to throw everything away.

Or is it the opposite "As I rape your soul of virtue I am a god of lust and pain" The I is the (imaginary) god of the "you"
