Cyanide Lyrics

This is the hand that will blind your eyes and split your spine
This is the blade that’ll visit your flesh and release the wine

Play!
You play with toys that have triggers
and you hear how the led moves near
Play!
You play with razors and it hurts, it hurts
As you face your fears

So face the dark and I’ll teach you about fire in the blink of an eye
- Now drink the cyanide -
The worlds collide and you know it’s pure filth that I hide

On these plains there’s a burning ruin that must be found
On these plains there’s a demon that sleeps, It must be unbound

Run!
You run for the borders where epistles burn in the arms of man
Run!
You run among bodies and they scream, they scream to bite God’s hand

When the dark does what the dark does best, It’s darkness!
Let the dark do what the dark does best, Let there be darkness!

He's talking about a person who's flirting with suicide. "You play with toys that have triggers and you hear how the led moves near" = A bullet in a gun, and someone is touching the trigger. "You play with razors and it hurts, it hurts As you invite your fears" = Cutting with razorblades.

But that was just playing with the though of suicide, now he wants the person to kill him/herself with the poison. And after that the person sees that death provides no relief what so ever...

That's the way I interpret it at least =)

A cyanide is a chemical compound with a carbon atom triple bonded to a nitrogen atom. Cyanide is commonly used in movies and its effects are exaggerated. Strong, Acute doses can lead to coma and death due to the paralysis of the lungs in minutes. Not seconds as many movies lead you to believe.

The song, Is obviously about suicide. I think SoulRapist summed it up rather well.

Cyanides are a kind of poison I think, but I don't get it what that has to do with the rest of the song. I think like Blitzkrieg it's just about the need of humanity to destroy itself.

cyanide is a poison...that is true...

its feels like a cultist leader is telling his followers its time to die because the world has become sick and perverse, so he eggs them on to drink the cyanide...

To me this song is about suicide, depression. "If you're going to cut your wrists, why bother. Just kill yourself." I myself see no point in cutting, but whatever.

"If you are so god damn depressed, drink cyanide and get it done. It's fast and effective."

I cannot BELIEVE no-one comments Deathstars, they're a upcoming band, after their tour with Cradle of Filth, they should be even more commented!

What the...? Cyanide is a poison, but not in this context. Cyanogen is a group of people looking almost exactly as eachother. The people in that group are called cyanides.

"Drink the cyanide" would refer to the poison, but the video pretty much proves the whole "group" thing.
