Suitcase Lyrics

No don't worry with your suitcase, dear
And don't worry with your suitcase, dear
Cause the people out to get you
They don't know that you're here
So don't worry with your suitcase, dear

Honey, you don't have to go nowhere
Honey, you don't have to go nowhere
Cause there's people out their screaming
They linger in the air
But you don't have to go nowhere

Just forget about your troubled mind
Just forget about your troubled mind
Oh cause I can see you dreaming
Knowing that it's time
So forget about your troubled mind

So don't worry with your suitcase, dear
No, don't worry with your suitcase, dear
Cause the people out to get you
They don't know that you're here
So don't worry with your suitcase, dear
No, the people out to get you
They don't know that you're here
So don't worry with your suitcase, dear

Cover art for Suitcase lyrics by Joe Purdy

It's a very obvious song, his lover must leave to attend to the world's troubles and he is just trying to tell her to stay!!

My take on this is a man who goes to visit his wife in the mental hospital. She's obviously very excitable and he's trying to calm her down. The people out to get her are in her head and the people out there screaming are the others in the hospital.

"Just forget about your troubled mind"

I think its more about a woman who keeps trying to find love elsewhere, and he is saying that she can find it right where she is, with him. She doesn't need to pack her suitcase, because she's already where she needs to be.

Jesse, I can see your take on the song and perhaps it is about a person who's lost their balance of mind.

Sad though, whichever interpretation you see.

I love these simple melody songs.
