I had to transcribe this just by listening to it, so a few of the words might be off, but it's an amazing song. :)
"And the wallpaper's peeling" - is that a reference to the Yellow Wallpaper?
I thought that line was kind of lacking, until I realized what it might refer to. Thoughts?
wow, a reference to The Yellow Wallpaper would make so much sense since that story is about struggling and holding back and going crazy. i love this song.
I'm not going to comment on whatever this song was supposed to be about. I don't really care about Kevin's divorce or whatever, even though this was "previously unreleased" and wasn't on Hissing Fauna (which, incidentally, I am sooo dissapointed in). Anyway, the question asks "What does this song mean to YOU", not "what does this song mean to the writer?"
I get so weirded out by timing. This song was on the Polyvinyl Sampler that they sent with Hissing Fauna. I can't even describe how perfect this is with a certain situation of mine. "How can we escape from this indigent state?" How can I even BEGIN to open myself up to you? Will you ever do the same for me?
Not to mention, this song sounds AMAZING. And, ugh-- taciturn! What a word! This is the Of Montreal I know and love.

This wouldn't have been out of place on Icons, Abstract Thee... It feels me with sadness... and makes me taciturn, in turn.
this song doesn't fit the tone of Hissing Fauna at all, but it is good enough to be on HF. great song.
