Blood On My Hands Lyrics
BLOOD ON MY HANDS
Closed in around me
The walls are like enemies
Trying to trap me inside
You are the same with your devious inklings
Trying to take me for mine
Well I don’t know what you want from me
I’ve given you everything
Even the air I breathe
And I don’t know what you’re trying to prove
I’ve got nothing left to lose
Either way
I know I’m only
Giving away the guilt in me
Giving away complicity
The feeling is surreal but the blood’s still on my hands
Guilty I may be but you’re the epitome
Blaming the world for your crimes
Soon comes the ending where I’ll be left standing
Alone here to die
On my time
Well I don’t know what you want from me
I’ve given you everything
Even the air I breathe
And I don’t know what you’re trying to prove
I’ve got nothing left to lose
Either way
I know I’m only
{chorus}
I’ll stay numb until the guilt is gone
When blood stained on my hands is fading
Fade…
{chorus}
Closed in around me
The walls are like enemies
Trying to trap me inside
You are the same with your devious inklings
Trying to take me for mine
I’ve given you everything
Even the air I breathe
And I don’t know what you’re trying to prove
I’ve got nothing left to lose
Either way
I know I’m only
Giving away complicity
The feeling is surreal but the blood’s still on my hands
Blaming the world for your crimes
Soon comes the ending where I’ll be left standing
Alone here to die
On my time
I’ve given you everything
Even the air I breathe
And I don’t know what you’re trying to prove
I’ve got nothing left to lose
Either way
I know I’m only
When blood stained on my hands is fading
Fade…

I can't believe nobody commented this song....it's amazing. To me, it describes how you give and give to somebody but they're cruel in return. And the feeling that you get from that...you feel guilty...you really shouldn't but you do. You're sick of being nice and getting walked all over....but you can't not be nice...and you try to not be nice and that's where the guilt stems from. But you eventually can break away from that person....and that's the chorus... "giving away the guilt in me giving away complicity the feeling is surreal....."
Ok I thought of a better way to put it....it's about sacrificing yourself for another person...and them not appreciating it....and you trying to get that piece of you back.
i think that this song is about taking part in something.....a relationship perhaps.... that is so screwed up and so unhealthy that it has 2 end, and iut ends on bad terms
but the singer is trying 2 say that he gave it everything he had, he was used and he knows it, he lost his pride, his onnocence, the whole 9 yards
he says that the other person was really to blame, he was just an accomplice, and know he's through with it
but even though he is giving up, and giving away his guilt as an accomplce (check the definition of complicity) he knows he'll b scarred for awhile, until the blood stains fade
I agree with foArdo, however the two people knew each other it was so messed up it had to end..and it didn't end very well. And the singer gave everything he had..and he feels that the other person just took and took and didn't really try to reciprocate.
Even though he knows that ending is the best thing for both of them, he still knows it's going to take a while for him to get over what happened. He feels
To me it's about the liberation of letting go of the guilt and complicity of religion. He feels free but the scars of it are still there. The first verse describes the tolls that religion imposes. Trapping you in and forcing you to believe in an ideology. He insists on giving away all the guilt that religion makes you feel until the "religion mindset" is gone.
