Burning Benches Lyrics

Let us make amends
We're not overly good friends
But it's not heaven without you

You can have it all
We'll see mountains fall
But it's not heaven without you

Let us make amends
We’re not overly good friends
But its not heaven without you

You can have it all
We’ll see mountains fall
But its not heaven without you

It’s a symphony distorting
When we’re not talking
But its not heaven without you

There’s just something different
With the air about you
The signs, the shapes, the numbers
Then give me a clue
You can have it all

And I’m not burning benches
'Cause the ash will make me choke
It was me who always spluttered
Every time we spoke
You can have it all

Okay, so your proberly all right. But I personally think this song has the most PERFECT line ever wrote in musical form; 'Its a symphony distorting, when we're not talking' (I even had those words tattoo'd on me!) They are sooooo powerful! And some everything bad that happens in a relationship up! A symphony = Something beautiful. Potentially amazing. (The relationship) Distorting when we're not talking = Is being ruined by the silence, by not talking the 'symphony' isnt being allowed to be that amazing and beautiful thing!

That's how I feel anyway!

Bloody amazing song tho! Love it !!!!!

@leahreeman123 A symphony distorting when we’re not talking is also my favourite line in any song

I can't believe this band have split!! this song is one of my very favourites. was me nd my ex's song so it means quite a lot to me. I like the idea of this being about giving someone a second chance because we all need one at some point! ITS NOT HEAVEN WITHOUT MORNING RUNNER!!

brilliant song, about obsession and unreturned love, and according to the band emotionally influenced by the David Lynch film 'Eraser Head'. Why aren't MR huge yet?

I think its more than just unreturned love, I think that the relationship has other problems, where he says: We’ll see mountains fall. is like saying he want to try again and the problems (mountains) will go away. Also I think he is blaming himself for these problems where in the last verse he says: It was me who always spluttered Every time we spoke. as if to say he messed it up.

To sum it up, to me this song is His plea to try again, asking for a second chance... well thats my 2cents. someone else have ago. this song is amazing!
