this songs about the singers friend who committed suicide unexpectidly. I think the friend could have been in a band with him as it says "How could you leave us that way?" and "With gifts of plectrums for your journey, and melodies to help you on your way"
I also think they may have had an arguement which wasnt reseloved before he died as it says "A thousand questions left unanswered" and he also thinks its his fault he kill himself cuz, it says "I felt so guilty

i think what he meant by 'candles burn without a flame on' is that even though a candle isnt lit in his memory they still remember him.

I won't quote from an interview but this weeks Kerrang! seeks meaning to this song. And it's about suicide at a young age and how you deal with it, 15 is such a fragile age, and in this case it was unexpected, gone so quickly. BFMV :]
