First southern rock band I've ever heard that used a flute in a song...I think this song made the flute cool to play out loud...or maybe that was Free Bird.

Wow. Lyrical meaning is one thing, but I always thought Toy Caldwell's guitar does most of the talking. Great lyrics and you can hear Toy pour his heart and soul into every note. Toy was a VERY underrated musician, great song-writer, a hell of a marine, purple-heart recipiant in Nam, and from everything I've heard a gentleman.
