WOW i wrote a poem about the love of my life and its so similar to this song and I have never heard this song in my life. Wow...my poem was titled Angels SON is Raining On Me in the poem i go on to say every time it rains i feel you holding me and more. I would have to pull it out but all i have to say is me and Brad must have had the same tragedy in our life.
when I first heard this song i felt like cryin when I heard it then it still makes me sad 'cause i remeber it rainin after a sad thing happened to me=(
This is a beautiful song! I think he is saying that is consumed with missing a person/thoughts of a person and he is using rain as a metaphor for that all consuming feeling. I even think he may be missing this person due to a death. Especially in the line " Because the closest i get to holding you again is everytime that sky opens up" Like, the person he misses is in Heaven. It is really sweet but sad, too.
