Yo no me he tomado

Yo no me he tomado
Pero me voy a tomar un traguito ahora
Y se que lo que mas espero
Lo mas que se me enamora

I haven't drunk But I will have a drink now And I know what I I expect the most What makes me fall in love the most

three, seven, ten You don't see me anymore But maybe if I say your name You'll know who it is I'm the dog at your feet the one that bites your rib The stars shine and the moon sits on its chair

what do you drink, little moon? and why are you so yellow? well, I'm tired now and my daughters say I'm old My hair is so dry and my skin doesn't shine anymore But the world is yours, tonight your mine

so stay, moon, stay stay, moon, stay stay, moon, stay stay, moon, stay

See god in the air, see god in the sea I give you my whole life to hear you sing Hear god in the wind, taste god in the honey God lives outside and inside too

say it to me, say it to me, moon say it to me, say it to me, moon say it to me, say it to me, moon say it to me, say it to me, moon say it to me, say it to me, moon say it to me, say it to me, moon say it to me, say it to me, moon say it to me, say it to me, moon

I haven't drunk but I will have a drink now and I know what I expect the most what makes me fall in love the most.

I'm from Chile so yeah I know spanish... The lyrics are pretty hard to translate cause he's using a centro-american form of spanish.

*By the way "entreabría" IS a word but it doesn't have a literal meaning in english.

"Pero el mundo es tuyo, esta noche eres mía"

...Though the world is yours, tonight, you are mine.

That's all a couple introductory spanish classes are going to give me.

ploison, sorry to disappoint you but "Pero el mundo es tuyo, esta noche eres mía" means "But the world is yours, tonight you are mine". That's what he says to the moon when "she" answers "bueno, ya estoy cansada y mis hijas ya me llaman viejita / el pelo tan seco y mi piel ya no brilla" which means "well, i'm tired and my daughters are telling me i'm old / my hair is so opaque and my skin ain't radiant anymore" to his question "¿qué tomas lunita y porqué estás tan amarilla?" ( "tell me little moon what are you drinking and why are you so yellow?")

    ..................... Rough Translation:

What are you drinking little moon and why are you so yellow? Well I"m already tired and my daughters call me old My hair is so dry and my skin doesnt shine. But the world is yours, tonight you are mine.

Look at god in the air, look at god in the sea I'll give you all my life just to hear you sing Hear God in the wind, feel God on the skin God lives outside and inside as well

Quedate means stay and Dímelo means tell me

This song is just so gorgeous. The simplicity in which he sings it, combined with his voice is what makes it this breath-taking.

Now, I'd interpret it, but I don't speak spanish and there isn't a translation of the lyrics.

Oh well. Still a gorgeous song.

    i THINK this is it...

I haven't drunk But i'll take a drink now And I know what I expect the most What makes me fall in love

Three, Seven Ten You can't see me But perhaps If I say your name You'll know who it is I'm the dog at your feet That bites your ribs And the stars shine and the moon sits on its chair

I know Devendra doesn't pronounce the S's he sings more of the spanish you'd hear in Spain. Wonderful song nonetheless.

This song is def a twin to "Unfair" (a song she has been quoted as saying is about falling in love with someone who is already in a relationship) so it is presumably about the same person. Given the references to buying an apartment and not being able to see her love interest "after tonight," it's most likely that she's moving away and she'll "wait a day to break the bad news" (i.e. notifying him that she's leaving once she's already gone). And, of course, the fact that she sees in him a fellow "idealist" and "dreamer" (terms commonly given to people with the INFP personality on the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)) portends that she'll always be left wondering if they would've been perfect together.

The Night We Met

This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
