Half A Life Lyrics
Woah. No one has commented? =[ I love this song..lots. It's one of my favorites by bayside. Great band. Great music. Enough said. =] I love this part though.."Hold a mirror to show just what you've become"
Anyone think this sounds like it could be about Andrew (or possibly Jim, though Andrew is a more likely candidate since he contributed far more to the band)?
"You're all show and it's getting old As for the rest of us, we'll do fine with what we have, making the best of what is left."
That part especially makes me think "the rest of us" is the guys left in the band after he left. And the part's about things how bad his life is, etc. Because Anthony made a point to say this album was more hopeful than the last one (and who wrote the last one? Andrew!) But probably not, because I wasn't aware of overwhelmingly hard feelings like in this song when those guys left, so i don't know.
Amazing guitar solo in the middle. Love Bayside, love this song.
It's just a really good song about bitter feelings, to an old friend.
"I hope one day you understand that a girl on your arm won't make you a man."
It's really a simple lyric, but there's so much meaning to it.
The guitar solo is incredible. Jack never fails.
I think this song is about someone being fake...not being who they truly are. I have experienced this so, I can relate to this song.
Awesome song Awesome band BAYSIDE ROCKS!
actually, this song is a cover of a band called love spit love. it's definitely a better version i think. i love bayside, and they made this song work for them.
This isn't a cover. It's just got the same name.
"i dont think ill ever understand, how a cowardly cat can call himself a man"
this band def. has a piece of my heart. they know just where to hit to make you feel and understand all their lyrics. anthony reminds me of jesse lacey as far as lyrical genius is concerned.
the song brings up bitterness between old friends.. or maybe not so much friends...but i think its just about someone whos a serious asshole and who doesnt care to look at himself and the decisions he is making that are affecting others negativley i dont know it just makes you thik... that things are not always as they seem... if people are putting on a show...then they are most likely not happy or being true to themselves.
I know this wasn't meant to be the original meaning of the song, but after looking at Anthony's opinion about this year's warped tour, i feel like this could go out to the fans of Brokencyde, 3OH!3, Millionaires, The White Tie Affair, and the other fake bands that are on Warped this year. The fans simply listen to the music because it sounds good and don't even worry about whether the live performances are autotuned, fake drummed, and even lip-synced. They haven't gone deep inside themselves to figure out the meaning of the songs, and the "spoonfuls of shit" bands have added up and invaded warped tour.
Again, I know this isn't what Ant orinally meant, but after listening to it now, I can relate it to these bands and their fans.
