Start Over Lyrics
With one finger on the trigger
Backed against a wall
Here it's kill or be killed
Don't ask questions
How did this happen?
And why am I here now?
I don't want to die here
Dying to get out
When blood oils the machine
Should we tear the whole thing down?
Just start over
Start all over
I feel
I feel like I'm choking
On someone else's words
Just start over
I find it all peculiar
In an unfamiliar town
I'm here to set you free
By burning you down
Why should you be grateful?
For the bombs and the loss
Bullets don't lie here
Just politicians
When blood oils the machine
Should we tear the whole thing down?
Just start over
Start all over
I feel
I feel like I'm choking
On someone else's words
Just start over
When failure is not an option
It's now or not at all
I'm sorry I don't understand your words
As the blood paints the wall tonight
I have died a thousand times here
If I've lived at all
I'm only following orders
It's not my fault
I asked for an education
They handed me a gun
They said stamp out evil
Make us proud son
But I
I can't tell the difference
There's sand is in my dreams
I shake from the silence
I can still hear them screaming
If I
If I never leave here
If I'm buried in this place
To be remembered as I am now
Crying to wash the blood off my face
When failure is not an option
Now or not at all
I'm sorry I don't understand your words
As the blood paints the wall tonight
I have died a thousand times here
If I've lived at all
I'm only following orders
It's not my fault
As I lay there waiting
Tied to a chair
Oh the things I could have said
With that last breath of air
When blood oils the machine
Tear it all down
Backed against a wall
Here it's kill or be killed
Don't ask questions
How did this happen?
And why am I here now?
I don't want to die here
Dying to get out

Politicians lie here, failure is not an option, blood paints the wall, sand in my dreams... "Stamp out evil"
War. I listened to this song a lot, and submitted the lyrics. But until I paid attention to the greater meaning of the song I didn't get it. I'm pretty sure it is about war, and if I had to guess (sand in my dreams) it is about our current involvment overseas.
