Summertime Lyrics
It's summertime
And the living is easy
Fish are jumping
And the cotton is high
Your daddy is rich
And your mommy's good looking
So hush pretty baby, don't you cry
One of these mornings
You're gonna wake up singing
You're gonna spread your wings
Take to the sky
But till that morning
There's just not a thing that can harm you
With daddy and mommy standing by
And the living is easy
Fish are jumping
And the cotton is high
Your daddy is rich
And your mommy's good looking
So hush pretty baby, don't you cry
You're gonna wake up singing
You're gonna spread your wings
Take to the sky
But till that morning
There's just not a thing that can harm you
With daddy and mommy standing by

My mother used to sing this to me when I was a child - for those who don't know, it's from Porgy and Bess, and as she was from Mississippi and bore and raised me in Louisiana (US Deep South) it resonated with us. You can imagine my delight in finding Nick singing my very own "roots music"!
His voice is absolutely hypnotic on this track. He could've sung me the phone book.
