Love Is The Answer Lyrics
Name your price
A ticket to paradise
I can't stay here any more
And I've looked high and low
I've been from shore to shore to shore
If there's a short cut I'd have found it
But there is no easy way around it
Light of the world, shine on me
Love is the answer
Shine on us all
Set us free
Love is the answer
Who knows why
Someday we all must die
We're all homeless boys and girls
And we are never heard
It's such a lonely world
People turn their heads
And walk on by
Tell me is it worth just another try
Light of the world, shine on me
Love is the answer
Shine on us all
Set us free
Love is the answer
Are we alive
Or just a dying planet
What are the chances
Ask the man in your heart for the answers
And when you feel afraid
Love one another
When you've lost your way
Love one another
And when you're all alone
Love one another
And when you're far from home
Love one another
And when you're down and out
Love one another
And when your hopes run out
Love one another
And when you need a friend
Love one another
We got to love one another
Light of the world, shine on me
Love is the answer
Shine on us all
Set us free

The price to get into paradise is JESUS’ death on the cross, for our sins. It was HIS time to return to HIS FATHER in heaven, however… only through the cross! HE asked HIS FATHER if there was any other way, but the answer was, no. MY SON, there is no greater love than this, than to lay down YOUR life, for those you love, and HE loves everyone, and HE still does. All you have to do is repent of your sins and believe in HIM and HIS perfect and sinless sacrifice for you, on the cross, and then follow HIM daily, through the power of HIS HOLY SPIRIT, WHO will freely give you HIS Agape Love, a spiritual GODLY Love, that will leave your mouth wide open in awe and amazement! JESUS would and definitely does agree with the lyrics of this beautiful song, inspired by HIM, that speak of HIM! When JESUS sets you free, you are free indeed!
You don’t have to take my word for it, simply read it for yourself in the Gospel of John, in the New Testament. As JESUS was hanging from the cross, HE told John, to take care of HIS mother for HIM. If JESUS trusted John that much, don’t you think you can too? Especially considering JESUS was the inspiration for John’s words. Read them today!
I believe this beautiful and amazing song is also inspired by JESUS, and I love it, for that reason. I pray that through this song, you will come to know HIM today! Peace, Love, and Joy, to you, my friend!
A great song for believers! Light of the world, shine on me.
Awesome song - such a spiritual tune! Been a favorite of mine since I was little. Funny - always thought he was singing "light up the world". Now it totally makes sense.
I can't remember ever hearing a more relevant, Beautiful, reference to Jesus Christ being the Greatest Lover of Mankind ever. (Shine on us all) In the song, a non-believer realizes his mortality,(Someday we all must die) explores other Religions worldwide,(From shore to shore to shore) then realizes the Answer is in giving his life to Jesus' Love for others as He so loved and died for us, so we may forever gain Eternity!!(Ticket to Paradise) And He will create a new Heaven & Earth (Are we just a dying planet) I am reduced to tears of Joy every time I hear this piece ! Just Awesome!
I imagine this song could be attributed to religion, by some. And religions have utilized it for their purposes. But really, it was yet another wonderful song created by Todd Rundgren, for the people of his (our) generation, coming on the heels of Woodstock, an enticement to change the world (as we all thought we could).
@lea t11315 Great job mentioning that Mr Rundgren wrote this gem. I do believe there is a Jesus references here.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." - St Paul (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)
