Lazy Lyrics
You're lazy just stay in bed
You're lazy just stay in bed
You don't want no money
You don't want no bread
If you're drowning you don't clutch no straw
If you're drowning you don't clutch no straw
You don't want to live you don't want to cry no more
Well my trying ain't done no good
I said my trying ain't done no good
You don't make no effort no not like you should
Lazy you just stay in bed
Lazy you just stay in bed
You don't want no money
You don't want no bread
You're lazy just stay in bed
You don't want no money
You don't want no bread
If you're drowning you don't clutch no straw
You don't want to live you don't want to cry no more
I said my trying ain't done no good
You don't make no effort no not like you should
Lazy you just stay in bed
You don't want no money
You don't want no bread

The guitar and keyboard in this song is anything but lazy.
I suspect that the lyrics were added as "incidentals" following the construction of excellent guitar riffs by Blackmore.
i cant believe no one has written in about this song!!! i think its about not making an effort in life and wanting to slip away from the working world............"u dont make no effort no not like u should" this is one of their best in my eyes its very different from their others all u die hard deep purple fans like me should know this one!!!! :)
yeah, defintely about taking it easy, relaxing on a sunny or rainy morning for that manner. What I love is the rythm, I mean the bass, the drums and above all the guitar riffs couldn't be any better. Love this song. It just puts me I a rockin' mood..... thanks to Deep Purple, one of my all time favs
This song is awesome.. kind of represent me everyday when I wake up 6 AM -.-
Why couldn't bands these days be this cool anymore? Deep Purple is still one of the top in my eyes, and this song just shows how DP still deserve to be labelled "great".
kkkkkkkkkk... this song is about me!!!
Ian Gillan probably didn't even realize it back then, but this is one of the best descriptions of major depression disorder I have ever heard/read. Everybody might say you're lazy, and of course you are. You don't stop blaming yourself for being lazy, still you can't help it. Drowning, too weak to even clutch a straw. You don't wanna cry no more, and maybe one unfine day you put an end to crying. Always one of my favourite DP tracks, and nowadays even more.
I thought the same)

It's about someone who's just too lazy for their own good, not caring about anything even if it kills them.
This song is my secong favorite deep purple song, behind child in time
