initially i thought this was a missy original when i first heard it on triple j. i went searching for the lyrics elsewhere and found the same song lyrics sung by belinda carlisle (of all people) but written by the finns. beautiful song. does anyone know who the male vocals are in the song? it sounds like it could be a finn brother.

I love this song too. It's a Split Enz original covered by Belinda Carlise and Pearl Jam. Crowded House reporduced it. The song is originally sung by Tim Finn. Missy covered this for the Finn brothers tribute album which is double album with the Finn's singing all their classic Split Enz songs on one album and Australian and New Zealand female artists singing the same songs on the second album. In think it's called 'in their own words' or something like that.
oh god this song is gorgeous. missy really does it well. its obviously about a person in a relationship that loves the other person but isnt making plans for the future and is living day to day. beautifull song.

some of the lyrics are so true for me
this song is so simply beautifull. to me its about a girl that is with a guy that wants her to commit more than she is willing to. also, the first line "disobey my own descions, i deserve all your suspicions" gives the distinct impression that she is unfaithfull to him but is not really worried about it because she says she has "no secrets that i battle in my sleep"
i love the line "i wont make promises to you that i cant keep" to me that says that she wont tell him that she loves him and promise to be faithfull if she honestly knows she wont.
