Window Frames Lyrics
Given in to this feeling that I'm on the verge of something.
It's an inch, it's a lift, it's just the way it is.
I should've chained the doors to save us from the walk-ins.
Now it's too late to turn the lights off and hide.
Last night you were next to me when the fire alarm went off.
We held each other on the feather bed quiet and calm.
But it was not the same, the names were changed,
and the window frames were in the wrong place
in my dreams where I didn't mess everything up.
I imagined a son and this not my imagination.
Honey, you're too sweet for my teeth and you're giving me cavities.
If you never run too fast, you'll never get winded.
No relationships are ever finished, just abandoned.
In this light, you're a silhouette and I'm gauged by what I'm told.
All I can see were the seventeen inches of snow.
It was not the same, the names were changed
And the window frames were in the wrong place
in my dreams where I didn't mess everything up.
Look what you did to me and my wisdom teeth.
Your lips were too sweet and they left me with cavities.
It's an inch, it's a lift, it's just the way it is.
I should've chained the doors to save us from the walk-ins.
Now it's too late to turn the lights off and hide.
We held each other on the feather bed quiet and calm.
But it was not the same, the names were changed,
and the window frames were in the wrong place
in my dreams where I didn't mess everything up.
Honey, you're too sweet for my teeth and you're giving me cavities.
If you never run too fast, you'll never get winded.
No relationships are ever finished, just abandoned.
All I can see were the seventeen inches of snow.

this song is just a friendly reminder to brush your teeth!
Actually you're right. That's silly.
"No relationships are ever finished, just abandoned" Who knew Paulson had more to it then fucking awesome songs to dance to?!
this song is about this guy being addicted to this girl but he misses her. and he's saying he's admitting to all the screw ups he made in the relationship.
He's messed up the relationship, let it fail(walk-ins could be people that he allowed in that ruined their love), and now he's addicted to something he can't have anymore. She's taken over his dreams and taken away his wit(wisdom teeth). When people are infactuated with someone, they are often ignorant of everything else, and being deprived of someone can build onto this ignorance.
I love the song, especially "No relationships are ever finished, just abandoned". There is a lot of allegory to explore. :)
I think the walk-ins refers to him and this one girl. Like, she walks in and wants a quickie, but he feels bad because his feelings are toward someone else. This song is all about how he regrets falling in love. Now every relationship he's in is never the same. The first girl, the one he loves broke his heart, left him with cavities, just a painful reminded. And took his wisdom teeth, like, not real teeth, but just his ability to make good decisions.
my favorite paulson song. I agree with Smallfry06. about the cavities part. it all makes total sense now :).
what i see:
a guy is obsessed with one girl that he will ALWAYS love and picture to be with (but mainly is a dream because she won't be with him again) lets just give this "love of his life" girl the name of "amanda.
starts out - giving in....(these lyrics and so on..) represent him giving new girls new chances and thinks - "hey maybe this girl will actually mean something to me"( while he still keeps in mind the other girl he is obsessed with and compares everygirl to that ONE so-cal amazing girl (amanda)... its just the way it is....he should have chained the doors and saved "us" from the walk-ins...meaning: he shouldn't have even let her in because he knows she wont mean anything to him while he always has amanda on his mind...so just chain the doors and dont let them into his life because it wont go anywhere anyway (basically)...
chorus: as the fire alarm went off they were holding eachother in bed, hes looking around thinking "man im gonna die" and he says "but it wasn't the same the names were changed; meaning it wasn't amanda with him before he dies, it is a different girl who doesnt mean anything, this isnt what he pictured... while he looks at the window frames, they were in the wrong place (not where amanda would have had them) because when people have a "love" of their life, they often compare that "great" person with other people, and those people never add up to that one person, or what that one person does... in his dreams where he doesnt mess anything up; meaning - maybe the reason why him and amanda broke up is because he screwed it up (no matter what there is always a reason for why people break up, and i guess he messed the relationship up) and he was with this girl holding her in his dreams where he didnt mess anything up (he didnt mess up with the girl he is with currently- therefore he didnt mess things up with the current girl (unlike his relationship with amanda).
when he says honey youre too sweet; meaning she isnt the same as amanda, shes too sweet for him, he is treated differently, its not his style.
when he says no relationships are ever finished just abandoned, resembles a brighter side of "hey maybe we can work something out, maybe amanda will like me again, its showing hope which leads to the next part in the song
in the light youre a sill... meaning he is with the random girl (who isn't amanda) and he needs to feel the love or lust or just needs to be with someone so he just kind of uses her, basically she doesn't have a face... and because of this he isnt able to wait to get to amanda...he doesnt have the patience to work on that relationship because he wants to feel relations right now and when he says all i can see was the seventeen inches of snow.... which i think means he is getting himself in these useless relationships where he doesnt actually like them, and when your in snow trying to run it slows you down, so these girls are just slowing him down.
the last line once again; "Look what you did to me and my wisdom teeth. Your lips were too sweet and they left me with cavities" meaning he never learned the lesson of slowing down and trying to get to "amanda" and so he is left with cavaties - meaning regret or just uselessness that he will always have with himself.
this is just what i got from the song and this is really just my "concept" of the song, i don't actually know if this is at all accurate but it's what i got from it.

i love this song by paulson, it's so chill and it really makes me feel. I love the lyrics. "Relationships are never finished, just abandoned" and the whole part when he says, "look what you did to me, and my wisdom teeth, your lips were too sweet, they left me with cavities." They're very clever, and when I saw them play live, Logan was awesome when he sang this.
