Friends For Lovers

"I've mistaken friends for lovers today As if it was normal anyway I fell for acting like she wanted to stay Turning love into hate, but in a good way"

This seems to me to be about a guy who is upset about a girl who thinks they should just be friends, and they both know it, but she wont admit it. So her believed what she was saying instead of how she was acting. When she finally told him, she's really appologetic, and wants to stay close friends. aka:"Turning love into hate, but in a good way"

"You've been acting like a real person today Taking peoples hearts and throwing them away You will tell me that you really wanted to stay but I Know you didn't that's what they all say"

He's really upset by it because he let himself be fooled and fell for her. She probably told her she wished it was working between them, and she really wanted to stay, but knew it wasn't right. And he didn't beleive her, but just thought that she's just trying to be nice.

"If this is the answer What is the question It's getting faster Everyone's rushing"

And he's wondering what his is going to mean, he has a ton of thoughts in his mind

"How crazy can crazy get when There is nothing to call normal like before Maybe you should find what to believe in Hate isn't your true love anymore"

He wonders how they could ever just be friends and wishes she'd figure out what she believes because being friends isn't going to be ok with him. It's too hard and it would crush him more. "Hate isn't your true love anymore" is referring to earlier "Turning love into hate, but in a good way"

"I see the way you're acting lately You'd never know it but you're standing at the door You never trust enough to make your own mind I'm not making it up for you make it up"

He's frustrated because she wont say it outloud and he knows where she's headed, but is dragging it out instead of just being upfront and honest.

"Now is not the time for old bad news It's almost over what's left to lose By tomorrow we will be somewhere brand new So just do what your music tells you to"

He's tired of everything and wants her to make up her mind and tells her to just follow her heart.

i dont really get what the friends for lovers thing is all about. maybe like how he realized he loved his friends more than he thought he did and he cared about them? idk. or maybe he's like referring to a girlfriend. anyways, i love this song. "the whole world will sing along" is such a great saying :)

I think it's where he likes this girl and he finally realizes she just wants to be friends. then he's all heart broken and he was putting together the pieces. and she was just playing him i guess. but i dunno, that's just me. :D

To me this is like a couple that broke up for reasons that weren't entirely solid. Like he's telling her to look at the situation. She wants to be friends, but he can't ever be friends as he loves her too much.

Story of my life... lol
