Little Girls Lyrics
Max said at a concert something to the effect of: "This song is about how big record companies exploit our band, and how we let them."
SA is AMAZING live, by the way.
I think the song goes a little deeper than what a lot of us are saying. It's self-parody. Little girls love punk rock stars who hate them and they love to buy their records. The song itself is a parody of the modern day punk rock attitude.
Ok, I could be crazy, but I don't hear" I wanna flush out your family line" I've played it over and over again, and I hear "I wanna pluck out your shifty eyes." But I could be wrong. It just doesn't seem to sound like family line to me and eyes rhymes with "by" better from the previous line...

from: evil things in my pants
to: keep the thief in my pants
haha evil things in my pants
haha evil things in my pants
It seems to me that this song is about Max being afraid of committing to a relationship, so he tries to push away everyone who tries to get close to him by pretending to be a "psycho". ("Don't you come near me, don't come close to me")
Also, he doesn't know how to react when people don't fall for his facade and try to get to know him. ("Why don't you fear me?")
the song is about a little bit of everything already mentioned -- fear of commitment, a dislike of a conforming to the social norm -- being swooned over by passionless 13 year old girls who couldn't hope to understand him.
oh god are they good live..
I really can't stand people like you. Passionless 13 year old girls who couldn't hope to understand him? I'm a 13 year old girl, and I love Max Bemis. And you know what? It's a not a little fangirl crush. I love him because he speaks so honestly about his mental illness. Because he wrote commentaries about the unhealthy, fucked-up ways in which love manifests itself. Because he wrote about co-dependence in gay relationships, and the homophobia in the church. Because out of all the music I've ever heard, I relate to his lyrics the most. Because he really and...

Because he really and honestly explained the anger, the alienation, loneliness, the insecurity that so many people feel, but is completely lost in the music on the radio. Because he's an inspiration to every kid who didn't fit in. So, fuck you. Take your ageist, stereotypical bullshit and go listen to a less amazing band.
Okay, this is probably dragging up something old but i wanted to clear something up. In the same way 'admit it!' calls out people following the scene and trends, is the same way that its commenting on passionless 13 year old. Thats not to say that all 13 year olds are that way, just that a group of them are just that way. so you taking offence doesnt really make sense? Unless your agreeing to the premise that you are a passionless 13 year old? i thought not. Its cool that you like how he comments on these issues, cause...

But im just saying, chill on the anger and confrontation.
Serial killer would be too obvious, max is deepr than that.
I hate, hate, hate what you are. (I want to flush out your family line.) Cuz i'm the punk rock, punk rock star! (You're everything I despise.) I hate, hate, hate what you are.
Probably my favorite part, it just says a lot about what I think the meaning of the song is; Max speaking out about these little teeny girls treating Say Anything as a trend and having absolutely no understanding about what he's saying.
And, they are incredible live.
The beginning of this song, before the lyrics, just where it's like aaahhh-ahhhh is my favorite part. Haha it's just perfect.
