Gold Fronts Lyrics
The sun bent down and spoke with the last of the lips
They spoke of hell and things they'd never miss
Bridge shelter and the cold creek bed
That breaks backs and leads eyes down
Until faces drag against the dirt and ears living in that muddy sound
Where the white whales roll just once a year
And the arm feeds the hatchet with an African appetite
Matched machetes sparkle shine
And shape that small-scale guillotine
I’ve been getting pretty sleeping in these boxes
With those blackened mule faces outside my door
Shouting
Oooohhhhh
The club met the seal and the seal met the dog
That carried the man to the end of the trail
Where they walked down the streets pavement
Was black beneath their feet
I have been having a little trouble with these black glass lungs
And dealing in the man with the gold tooth grin
They spoke of hell and things they'd never miss
Bridge shelter and the cold creek bed
That breaks backs and leads eyes down
Until faces drag against the dirt and ears living in that muddy sound
Where the white whales roll just once a year
And the arm feeds the hatchet with an African appetite
Matched machetes sparkle shine
And shape that small-scale guillotine
With those blackened mule faces outside my door
Shouting
Oooohhhhh
That carried the man to the end of the trail
Where they walked down the streets pavement
Was black beneath their feet
I have been having a little trouble with these black glass lungs
And dealing in the man with the gold tooth grin

i think this song is about how the people in Africa are poor and starving, and they have to mine gold for the rich...? correct me if i'm wrong
Actually, this song is about homeless people dying on the streets of cities because they can't overcome their drug addictions and, therefore, cannot escape poverty.
Some changes to the above lyrics, as I hear 'em. You be the judge.
The son went down and spoke with the last lips... They spoke of hell and things they knew they'd never miss Bridge shelter 'round the cold creek bed Breaks backs and leads eyes down Faces drag against the dirt and ears shiver in this muddy sound Where the white waves roll just once a year Arms feed the hatchet with an African appetite Matched machetes, sparkle shine Shape the small-scale guillotine

On a literal sense, BlackGhost might have it, but Sk8terpunk seems to get the metaphor behind it all.
I love this song!!
"The son went down and spoke with the last lips... They spoke of hell and things they knew they'd never miss"
-talking about a kid dying and with the last of his breath he talked of the awfful place he lived in"hell" and how hee'll never miss it.
i used to think that he was saying "shawty" during the chorus. it fit the gold fronts title.
i think i liked this song a lot better when i was singing that instead.
This is my favorite song off that album. I thought they were saying "showdown" instead of "shouting" at first, though.
This song is about the seal hunt.
I somehow interperate this song to have something do to with the black market aslo.
