Tommy was a preacher's son
Now he's running through the jungle all, "Yes sir" (yes sir)
Fingers cold and fire
When you get so tired and we're so tired
Lazing back in this desert
Waitin' for that sunny day

Tommy was a preacher's son
Now he's running through the streets sellin' up that cocaine
Those fire eyes will get ya (get ya, get ya, get ya, get ya)
When you get too tired and we're so tired and
Eyes blister beaded fortress rolling fevered freight trains in

Well, I met three men with friends in office
Smooth, dark skin and ivory teeth smiles
Our boots come alive in this mud, in this mud and this shit
This mud, in this mud and this shit

(Life is hard to fill with teeth that bite)

Through August fall of '69, Jesus had birthed him
He spoke in guns through crippled sheets, for Jesus had birthed him
Sugar cubes, fingernails, worming snakes that built the fire
When you get so tired and we're so tired

Oh, Jimmy got impatient
Waiting for that sunny day

Well, I met three men with friends in office
Smooth, dark skin and ivory teeth smiles
Our boots come alive in this mud, in this mud and this shit
This mud, in this mud and this shit

Well, I met three men with friends in office
Smooth, dark skin and ivory teeth smiles
Our boots come alive in this mud, in this mud and this shit

Well, I met three men with friends in office
Smooth, dark skin and ivory teeth smiles
Our boots come alive in this mud, in this mud and this shit
This mud, in this mud and this shit

I'm getting some Vietnam war vibes. I'm probably way off but "Now he's running through the jungle "yes sir!", Fingers cold and fire" and "Through August fall of ‘69, Jesus had birthed him, He spoke in guns through crippled sheets" kinda remind me of the vietnam war. Same thing with the boot lines.

I've no idea what the song is about or how that ties into it though :(

All that aside, It's a kick ass song!

this might sound odd. but you should really listen to the entire album, with just one speaker at a time. you hear a lot of different things than the lyrics and its a fact. he is an expert producer. and a master mixer. lol

Well I met three men with friends in office Smooth dark skin and ivory teeth(apetite smile) smiles Our boots come alive in this mud and this shit (things change or they shit)

With how people saybits about vietnam butbaldo the durect drug references i say its about how america treets vets and how they often end up homeless alone and with ptsd, and the homelessness drives them to addiction, its about the vets ofter vietnam or another major war

He reuses the verse melody from the previous album's "Dirty Little Religion", the topics of the verses are all over the place, and he packs too many words into one line (goes to show...) and too few in another (it's pretty hard to find), and rhymes "Henley Regatta" with "Persona non grata", but gets away with it all as only he could.

This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
