All those who have quoted "masterpiece", I'm totally, absolutely, completely 100% with you. 1 hour, 14 minutes and 17 seconds of every different emotion your brain can process, all resulting in perfection.
First time I listened to this song was on my computer, and after that 20 mins or so of white noise causing you to relax completely, I literally jumped up out of my chair at the end lol. Scared me assless.
The bit with the choir at the beginning especially sends shivers down my spine...it's fantastic. Patton is some kind of God. And that kind of God is MY God. \m/

Awesome song. Great lyrics.

Deep lyrics. Patton, you've done it again my friend.

Seriously though, from listening to this song/album which is awesome i think it is about a dude who has heart surgery and then because of the effects of the aneasthetic becomes delerious. And the musicscape is a description of those delusions.

This song has to be one of the greatest musical masterpieces of modern time. It's been called "The soundtrack to a nightmare" and I think that sums it up well. I think this song basically tells the story of a dream, in which the dreamer was lying on an operating table and things were going horribly wrong in surgery, and the patient was drifting in and out of conciousness.

Yeah, that seems to sum it up perfectly. I listen to this album a lot while drifting off to sleep. The ending is more alarming every time. I swear, one of these days it's going to give me a heart attack.

Masterpiece.

I'm on the verge of spearheading a radical cult devoted to the teachings of His Holiness Mike Patton. He's a fuckin' deity.

Actually, this song is about surgery without anesthesia.

mike patton is a genius
