Comin' Home Lyrics
Well I've been down to Georgia
I've seen the streets in the west.
I've driven down the 90, well hell I've seen America's best.
I've been through the Rockies, I've seen Saskatoon
I've driven down the highway 1 just hopin' that I'd see you soon.
'cause I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home.
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home.
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home.
Comin' home.
I've never been to Alaska, but I can tell you this,
I've been to Lincoln, Nebraska and hell you know it ain't worth shit.
I've been through Nova Scotia, Sydney to Halifax
I'll never take any pictures cause I know I'll just be right back.
'cause I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home.
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home.
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home.
I'm comin' home.
I've seen a palace in London, I've seen a castle in Wales
but I'd rather wake up beside you and breathe that ol' familiar smell.
I never thought you could leave me, I figured I was the one
but I understand your sadness so I guess I should just hold my tongue.
But I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home
Comin' home, I'm comin' home
Comin' home
I know that we're takin' chances, you told me life was a risk.
I just have one last question...
will it be my heart or will it be his?
Comin' home, I'm comin' home
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home
I'm comin' home, comin' home
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home
I'm comin' home, comin' home

Dallas Green's voice box must have been touched by God Himself. Because I've never heard anybody's voice be as beautiful as his.
look up johnny craig-children of divorce...his voice box is, too, touched by God Himself.

That awkward moment when you're from Lincoln, Nebraska.. ><><
Haha, I live in Lincoln and saw AlexisonFire in like 2004. I thought we were nice to him.

maybe about someone close to him back home, that he left for tour.. possibly a in refrence to "hello i'm in delaware"
agreed
it seems to be rather tongue in cheek about touring; "hell i have seen america's best"
so i reckon its just about how much touring, no matter how much you see, doesn't compare to your home, and the people there.
"I never thought you could leave me, I figured I was the one but I understand your sadness so I guess I should just hold my tongue."
it seems that touring is affect those at home etc
Woot Saskatoon!! Come back soon C&C, anyways yeah the songs clearly about a girl he has back home who hes losing because he on the road, and so hes "comin' home" to be with her
Sydney, N.S. represent!
There's no place like home
I'm guessing he lost a girl because of touring. I say this because of the part where he says "will it be my heart or his?". This implies choosing between himself and another guy. Now your friends or family don't have to choose between relationships usually. So that makes me think it's a girl who he lost because of distance via touring.
w00t Saskatoon is right!!! It's so strange that he mentioned such a small strange city in a great song. Weird. I think it's strange everytime I hear that since...well...I am here. :)
Great song, self explanitory lyrics. Bitterness towards touring I think.
I LOVE this song! It really pulls on the heartstrings and his voice, my gosh, it's absolutely gorgeous. The lyrics + music + emotions = great song (and great album while I'm at it) Also, I agree with you all on the meaning. It's pretty self-explanatory: being away from home, from all that you love, but doing something so close to your heart at the same time - tough stuff really, sigh...
