Fix what’s wrong, but don’t rewrite what the artist wrote. Stick to the official released version — album booklet, label site, verified lyric video, etc. If you’re guessing, pause and double-check.
Respect the structure
Songs have rhythm. Pages do too. Leave line breaks where they belong. Don’t smash things together or add extra empty space just for looks.
Punctuation counts (but vibe-editing doesn’t)
Correct typos? Yes. Re-punctuating a whole verse because it ‘looks better’? Probably not. Keep capitalization and punctuation close to the official source.
Don’t mix versions
If you’re editing the explicit version, keep it explicit. If it’s the clean version, keep it clean. No mashups.
Let the lyrics be lyrics
This isn’t the place for interpretations, memories, stories, or trivia — that’s what comments are for. Keep metadata, translations, and bracketed stage directions out unless they’re officially part of the song.
Edit lightly
If two lines are wrong… fix the two lines. No need to bulldoze the whole page. Think ‘surgical,’ not ‘remix.’
When in doubt, ask the crowd
Not sure what they’re singing in that fuzzy bridge? Drop a question in the comments and let the music nerds swarm. Someone always knows.
The elephant man was some freak that lived around that was born 1862. He was born with a rare disease. Growing tumors, hard as bone. Also unusual growth of bones. Known as Proteus Syndrome. The title The Proteus Syndrome Man wasn't really a good title, so they called him The Elephant Man.
His name was Joseph Merrick, and is the last song in Remission. This one is instrumental. Also last song "Joseph Merrick" in Leviathan is Instrumental.
im confused, people say that remission is the fire element but i hear wind samples before this song. leviathan and blood mountain are obviously water and earth but this one im not so sure. i think it has references to both elements, i didn't actually buy the cd though so is there some art work that shows fire?
Yes, this is definitely the fire element and the cover of the album is a horse that is on fire. Its very cool. Also, definitely buy the CD if you don't have it.

Hmmmm, thats cool as hell really. i didnt know about the elements...it makes a hell of alot of sense though. Leviathan is water, and blood mountain is earth..
i dont think that remission is one of those albums because remission means the return of a disease such as cancer and leviathan is an animal in the WATER and a mountain is a form of LAND
Add your song meanings, interpretations, facts, memories & more to the community.
Mastodon has some of the coolest art for their CD's. Just thought I'd like to add that, hahaha.

That was born 1862.* (Is it possible to edit posts, if I write anything wrong?)
Actually, wasnt Joseph Merrick the name of the guy who wrote Moby Dick?

He are Elephant Man and Joseph Merrick related to Pendulous Skin--the last last song of Blood Mountain??
Pendulous was an adjective used to describe Merrick.
Nope
