Have You Got It In You? Lyrics

It takes a lot to be always on form,
It takes a lot
Or maybe not, all the time, all I've got
Maybe not

Been one of those days,
Safety first don't push, what's the hurry?
One nerve remaining, waiting on one look, have you got it?
Have you got it in you?
Have you got it in you?

All at once, not a whisper nor word,
Then all at once
(Let me have it all, let me have a battle on,
Easy target look can we just, just get it over with?)
It's getting worse, against all the odds,
It's getting worse
(Bow down, floor's yours, last man standing, can we just get it over with?)

Been one of those days,
Safety first don't push (don't push me), what's the hurry?
'Cause there's one nerve remaining, waiting on one look (one look), have you got it?
Have you got it in you?
Have you got it in you?

Blue, blue, they make me blue
Head down, quick!
Take cover, be good in the move
Could you make me anymore blue?
Don't scream, shout
Caught in the light of your suit

Been one of those days,
Safety first don't push, what's the hurry?
One nerve remaining, waiting on one look, have you got it?
Have you got it in you?
Have you got it in you?
Have you got it in you?
Have you got it in you?
Have you got it in you?

It makes me think of a fight scene... but I doubt its actually about a fight. -maybe about a relationship that shouldn't happen... "have you got it in you" to go against what others want. "It’s getting worse, against all the odds, It’s getting worse"

Asking someone if they have it in them to keep the relationship up. There is no hurry, you just have to tell me, do you got it in you.

I'm still trying to figure this out with a "relationship" theme, but I think it does kind of sound like when a person is on their last nerve with someone, and they're calling them out to confront them once and for all ^.~

This song sounds so bloody sexual it's not even funny. Lols.

I always felt that this song is about fame, and being the best of the best (in her case, musically). Going the extra mile, pushing the limits. Go go go go go go go faster and faster and better and better, have to be the best, have to be on top.

I always thought this song was about her job, the recording business. How she's pressured to do the best she can and be this amazing thing she's expected to do these extraordinary things, but she also feels guilty and thinks that maybe she could be doing better, hence "it takes a lot to be always on form, or maybe not-all the time I've got, maybe not". She's putting on a fight-front, talking about "then all at once, let me have it all" saying basically "I can take it, come on, throw it on me, let's go." Edit: I guess I already commented on this one.

Amazing song...so powerful...

Continuing the recurring theme on the album, of taking a relationship back. That's how I interpret it. When she says "It takes a lot to be always en forme", it's saying that the relationship has grown past its boundaries and needs cutting back.

This song is, to me, a comment on the speaker's self-esteem...maybe to the point of being schizophrenic.
